Registration for CFSA sustainable ag. conference underway

calendar_iconThe Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) has its website geared up for online registration for the CFSA’s 2015 Sustainable Ag. Conference: Nov. 6 to 8 in Durham. For farmers with limited financial resources, the CFSA has a program that exchanges help with manual labor and other tasks for up to $70 of registration fee discount (for seven hours of assistance). NC SARE will be helping a few Cooperative Extension agents with conference costs. For students who get to the conference’s registration Web page and register before Oct. 14, there is a special discount rate of $155.

The upcoming CFSA Conference will have 66 workshops with sessions devoted to cucurbits, herbs, hops, microgreens, mushrooms, rice, winter vegetables and many other specialty crops; along with a broad assortment of introductions to innovative production technologies such as aquaponics, grafting, vermicomposting, and walk-behind tractors.
