Small Farms Resources at NC A&T State University

Strawberry jam band

The North Carolina Strawberry Association has an annual scholarship fund that accepts applications from rising juniors and seniors, and graduate students who are attending land-grant institutions. For next fall, the program will award two $1,500 scholarships. Applicants should be enrolled in a program of study in agricultural marketing, horticultural production, or food science that is in some way related to the strawberry industry. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 1.

With the 2014 strawberry season so close at hand, there are two topics of timely interest to scholarship seekers and non-students alike on the North Carolina Strawberry Association website:

  1. A strawberry farm locator that will come in handy when the urge to pick a pail strikes unexpectedly.
  2. An extensive online recipe collection for consumers looking for berried recipes.
