Small Farms Resources at NC A&T State University

Vance County’s LouMag Enterprises honored by A&T Extension

Although Small Farms Week 2015 was launched with a kickoff in Burnsville in the Blue Ridge high country on March 25, taller peaks were ahead at the Small Farmers’ Appreciation Luncheon on the A&T campus two days later.  SAES Dean Bill Randle unveiled a new website that will be part of the backbone of the SAES-led Small Farms Collaborative, and Louis and Magnolia Williams were named 2015 North Carolina Small Farmers of the Year by The Cooperative Extension Program at  A&T. The Vance County small-farm success story, LouMag Enterprises, has been picked up by the Henderson Dispatch and other media outlets.  The video that premiered at the Small Farmers’ Recognition Luncheon documenting the Williams’ 41-year voyage to the best small-scale agriculture has to offer is available at the SAES website.
