Fall into high-tunnel production at the A&T University Farm
Growers who would like to maximize their profits by extending their growing season can learn the techniques from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the A&T University Farm, 3136 McConnell Road in Greensboro. Members of The Cooperative Extension Program’s agriculture and natural resources team will demonstrate high-tunnel production methods during a free workshop at the farm’s horticulture unit. Participants will learn to stretch their growing season into fall- and winter-markets for vegetables such as kale, collards, lettuce, carrots, pac choi, green onions, pepper, eggplant and cucumbers. An organic strawberry system that uses low tunnels for fall and spring berries will also be featured. For details and more information, call 336.285.4661.
